Bob Benedetto is one of the top archtop guitar builders in America. And the Benedetto Fratello is his benchmark guitar. It is constructed from premium tonewoods, sourced from all around the world to guarantee the best quality.

As they say, God is in the details and the details are exceptional. The block inlays are mother of pearl and have been custom designed for this guitar. The top is bound with 7 plies of binding and Bob Benedetto is famous for the quality of his binding. The top is European spruce, as used by the great violin makers. Such is the quality of the top, Bob has even suspended the mini-humbucker from the scratchplate, so the top is totally free to vibrate without interferance.

The back and sides are beautifully flamed European maple, as is the hand shaped neck. The fingerboard, scratch plate and cello style tailpiece are all made of beautiful, black ebony. Of course, the headstock, fingerboard and scratch plate are all multiple bound, signifiying an instrument of the highest calibre.

Every detail of the Fratello is built under Bob's personal supervision and the label is signed by him. If it wasn't great, he wouldn't sign it.

Sound wise, this is about the warmest archtop we've heard, yet the trebles cut through with real authority when you ask them nicely, with just a slight hint of finger pressure. A fabulous guitar that every archtop fan should come in to play and marvel at what happens when a great modern builder adds his take to a traditional design.
