  Collings C10 Sunburst 2004
Collings C10 Sunburst 2004  The Collings C10 is based on the Gibson L00 guitars of the 1930's. It has mahogany back and sides and a mahogany neck. The spruce top finished in sunburst with a 'flame' or 'fire striped' pickguard, and only the body is bound.

It differs from the old Gibsons in a couple of areas. The fingerboard is ebony, not rosewood. And the Collings logo is inlaid into the headstock in MOP. The old Gibsons had to make do with a stencil. However, it is very much like the old Gibsons in this respect: the sound is wide open and the guitar really sings.

The Gibson L00's are today highly regarded instruments. This guitar doesn't let the side down in any respect and is probably built better than the Gibson. In our opinion, and that of many other guitar afficianados, Collings acoustic guitars will be a real prize to future generations.
