Gibson J-160E 1964 Sunburst
Detailed Images   Detailed Images
From a historic point of view, the Gibson J-160E model acoustic electric guitar holds a great importance as a key instrument used by John Lennon on many of The Beatles recordings, as well as an instrument he chose for many of The Beatles films, television appearances, and live performances.

Although the Gibson J-160E was made famous by The Beatles it does not have that distinguished full tone sound of a jumbo guitar, it has a laminated top and ladder bracings to cut feedback hence giving it less sustain and a flatter acoustic tone.

Despite its lower quality tone the vintage Gibson J-160E's are very collectable and sought after due to their history, and in particular their link to The Beatles, it was also the first Gibson flat top with an adjustable bridge.

This particular guitar is in excellent condition, with obvious lacquer cracking over the entire top of the guitar, other than that, this is a desirable addition to any collection.
