The line-up of Les Paul models was expanded in 1955 with the addition of the "Special", a two-pickup version of the Junior, finished in the TV Yellow colour.

In 1959, the Special was given the same new double-cutaway body shape that the Junior and the TV received in 1958.

That combined with the 4 digit serial number and the squared edge of the body, would leave us to believe that this guitar is a very early 1959 model.

The condition of the guitar is excellent, with great playability, and would make a great addition to any fine collection of vintage guitars.
