Fender Jazzmaster 1964 L Series Sunburst  Although almost never used for playing jazz, Jazzmasters are very hot right now. Blues players have discovered them and they deliver a great blues tone. Maybe jazz players will get hip, eventually.

Of course, they can deliver that brittle, hollow, shimmery surf tone effortlessly. And a pre-'65 Jazzmaster is still a way of getting L series Fender quality for a lot less than a Strat or Tele, but perhaps for not much longer. The prices on these guitars are going up all the time. And playing this one, it's easy to see why.

On the headstock the transfer logo is in great condition. The back of the neck still retains all its original finish. The fingerboard is Brazillian rosewood, with clay dot markers. The alder wood body retains the 'target' yellow/red/black sunburst finish, with a few chips around the edge. The action is low and easy to play. And it sounds great with or without an amplifier. Truly excellent.
