Fender Telecaster Custom 1971 Sunburst
A near perfect example of the art of the Telecaster. Unlike the Stratocaster, which went through radical changes when CBS took over Fender, the Tele remained pretty much unchanged right through to 1971, the year this guitar was made. Perhaps because the Tele was so perfect to begin with, it was impossible to 'improve'.
This one is an incredible instrument. It has the near perfect neck shape of the later '60's instruments, with a lot of bulk up near the headstock. The neck still looks brand new and the transfers on the headstock are in perfect condition.
The body has a few light marks from strumming, some paint chips around the neck plate and a small scratch mark on the front and one on the back. These marks are not immediately noticeable. Aside from that, the body is like new.
The whole guitar is incredibly lighweight, totally blasting the perceptions of '70's guitars out the window. It would be a great guitar to play but an even better guitar to have as the beginning or the end of a great Telecaster collection.
