Fender Telecaster Custom Sunburst c1972  In the early '70's Fender finally noticed that a lot of players were replacing the standard Tele front pickup with a humbucking pickup. To save them the trouble they launched the Telecaster Custom, with the humbucking pickup as standard.

We like this model because it retains the great rear Tele pickup and bridge configuration. And Fender did this guitar right, hiring Seth Lover (the man who invented the humbucking pickup in the first place) to design the front pickup for them. It is brighter with more bottom end than his original humbucker designed for Gibson and suits the Tele perfectly.
