Hamer Newport 90

At Hamer, every guitar they build is considered a "Custom Shop" piece. This gives Hamer the flexibility to accept custom shop orders not only for top names in the business, but from any customer who wants something better than today's mass-produced instruments.

The original Newport is fitted with Phat Cat single coils which were the result of a collaboration with Jol's friend Seymour Duncan. Conceived as a crossover guitar in 1999, the spruce-topped Newport was the first guitar to receive a perfect score in a Guitar Player magazine review. Since then Hamer have been busy configuring the Newport in different ways—adding binding, carved backs, custom inlays and experimenting with alternative pickup choices.
