  National Don Style 1 1927
National Don Style 1 1927  National's highest quality single cone resonator replacing 12 fret Style N model, German silver body with nickel plating, the same metal used on National's tricones. Beautiful pearloid peghead veneer with engraved National logo. Round mahogany neck, slotted perloid peghead. Elegant bound ebony fingerboard, 14 frets clear of the body. The defining feature would be "Don" engraved on handrest. This guitar came in three styles. This fitted lovingly with its own vintage hard case.

'These unusual guitars were only briefly produced, perhaps only one or two batches. These were definately the highest quality single resonator guitars that national made. The name "Don" engraved on the coverplate has caused much speculation about custom instruments made for a fellow named Don, but the name is meant to be evocative of the Spanish theme found in several mid to late 1930's Nation model names." - 'Courtesy of "The History and Artistry of National Resonator Instruments, By Bob Brozman - 1998 Centrestream Publishing'
